Birthday!

It was Chris' Mom's birthday so we went out to a nice little shopping plaza that looked like an old Mexican plaza and went out to lunch. Here is Chris with his parents:The shoppping area was very quaint and peaceful

Me, posing in between two of the patios The Birthday Girl!

Slide Rock Park

These shots are from Slide Rock Park in Sedona. The water was still a little cold, but it is such a pretty place. Chris and I definitely plan on heading back soon.

Next we headed up to Sedona!

Here are some shots of the scenery as we were sight-seeing around Sedona...they really don't do it justice. It is such a beautiful place.

Grand Canyon

Chris' parents came into town in April and we took the time to tour around Arizona. Our first stop was the Grand Canyon. Here are Chris' parents with the canyon in the background. Chris' mom is a litte scared of heights so this is as close as she got! Here is another photo of the Grand Canyon...grand isn't it?
And here is Chris posing with the big hole in the background.

Alli's Last Bash

I was luck enough to be the maid (matron!!) of honor in my friend Allison's wedding. We held a fabulous bachelorette party in San Diego to celebrate the bride leaving the single life behind.

The Bride's beverage of choice!

digging a hole...

In order to prevent the houseboat from floating away in the middle of the night (or day for that matter) we had to bury the anchors on the beach. Here I am doing my part to keep the boat on the shore.

Lake Powell Trip

One of the clients that I work with at my job is Lake Powell. I got to go up there a few months ago, tour the lake and stay the night on a houseboat. Here are some photos from the trip.

The Pro Shop Now

Chris' New Pro Shop

As many of you know, we moved to AZ so that Chris could get a fabulous new job. Here are pictures from the pro shop at the new country club (it is all set up now - these are from when construction first finished).

Family Shot

My sister did me a big favor and moved to Arizona so that I would have a friend. This picture is from "moving weekend" when we all went out to dinner.

The Girls

Here is a photo of my girls and I in San Diego at a little dive bar. This was when I was back in San Diego for a week and bunking at Hotel de Mississippi - otherwise known as Alli and Brian's house

So adorable

Here is my friend Erin's little guy Jett - although he isn't so little and he is even bigger now! I also have it on good authority that he is walking! Jett is a cutie pie and I wish I could hang out with him more. Erin, I know you will read this - when are you coming to Arizona?

So I stink at blogging

As many have pointed out, I suck at blogging. Maybe if I had a different job, where I didn't sit in front of a computer all day...but I don't - so the last thing I want to do it type, make sure I spell correctly, etc. when I get home. For the sake of my friends and family who still check this, I am going to try to post more (photos at least).

I will start by posting some old photos that should have been put up months ago.

Here I am around the holidays with my cousins!

My Too-cute Godson

Here are some adorable pictures of my nephew Travis from our time in California

He is walking all over the place and very curious - he discovered the dog door and thought is was pretty cool!

And away he goes!

Christmas

We had a wonderful time going back to CA to visit with family and friends over the holiday. Here are some fun pictures from Christmas. Here is my godson Travis with my Dad and Elmo.

Good friends, good times..

Last weekend my good friend Danielle came to visit. Once again it poured rain on the day she got here and then rained on and off for the weekend, but we still had fun. We didn't really do much but hang out and enjoy eachother's company. On Saturday, I had to work at an event for my job. The event was for a strip mall on the other side of town - they had Santa skydive into the parking lot and I had to have a TV crew come out and film it. Here Santa is making his approach.

He landed safely in the middle of the parking lot. It was pretty cool. He also had two elves that landed with him. None of the children were frightened, although Danielle was scared that Santa would crash into the WalMart across the street.

The next day I took Danielle to two of my favorite places in AZ:

1. Encanterra to look at our new home. Danielle loved the models and promptly decided she should move to AZ. She then called her husband who snapped her back into reality and reminded her Encanterra is in Arizona - not San Diego. Although I still think they should move.....

2. Costco Home - that's right all you Costco lovers. Here they have a whole warehouse dedicated to the home - furniture for every room, patio stuff, window coverings, flooring, granite - you name it! It rules....we plan on furnishing our home with Costco goods once we are finished with the sale and ready to move in.

PJ....so strange, so thirsty

Here is PJ chillin next to the treeHe LOVES the tree- he spends at least 20 hours a day under the tree. Not only does he practically live under it, but he drinks about 5 gallons of pine water a day. He has never drank this much in his life. It's almost as if someone moved him to the dry, hot desert and he is so thirsty he might die.....oh wait - did we do that?

So, we aren't very good at blogging....

So, blogging is hard...not the physical act of blogging, but actually taking time to remember to sit down and do it. Maybe if I set myself a reminder....an alarm once a week or something.

We have had a fun couple of weeks. It has rained the past two weekends here in AZ, which has been a bummer because we have had people in town. But, the desert is in a drought (imagine that) so we needed the rain.

My Mom came two weeks ago. We relaxed and took her to see our new home. We actually went to the new house both days - that's how much fun it is! On Saturday night we got our Christmas tree and put it up. Here are some photos of the occasion - our first Christmas in Arizona.

I forced Chris to hang up an ornament - this is him obeying me. The rest of the time he sat on the couch and directed the decoration process.

My Mom was a great participator in the tree decorating - thanks Mom!

I feel as though I look fantastically tall in this photo - something about the angle makes me look at least 5'5" - I am stoked! This is the tallest I have ever looked! I know it is an optical illusion, but I love it - I don't even have heals on.
